In 2014 Father Martin Rupprecht from Austria, visited Manzese Parish, in Dar Es Salaam, Tanzania. Manzese  is just a walk away from National Institute of Transport, Mabibo Campus. Alphonce Leonard, a former  NIT student  who pursued Diploma in Mrchanical Engineering, was church member by then, and a head alter boy,  a young dedicated man full of potential was assigned to assist Father Martin during his stay by the and Manzese Parish.

Mr. Alphonce laiter pursued a a Teaching Degree at the University and completed in 2020, however he started teaching Mathematics in a class of 61 since 2019. He is married to Adela Didasi at 6 o’clock in the morning church service due to Covid-19 restrictions on 21st November, 2020 and they are gifted with a baby boy.

Mr. Alphonce’s story shows that with proper support and sustainable like Education, provides an opportunity to build life and support family through hard work and determined goals. Mr. Alphone now stands on his feet and makes an important contribution to the Education of children and young people in Tanzania through teaching.

National Institute of Transport currently offers more than 42 programmes at the level of Certificate, Diploma, Bachelor, Postgraduate and Master’s degree. A number of short courses are also available, such as Vehicle Inspection, Passenger Service Vehicle (PSV), V.I.P Drivers Training, Cargo Tally, Cabin Crew, Information Technology just a few to mention.

The future of National Institute of Transport is promising as they are about to expand and open Campuses in Lindi, Dodoma and Kilimanjaro. They also have a number of partners in Dodoma, Mbeya, Arusha, Kigoma etc to organize Drivers short courses.

With God’s help, every thing is possible and the sky is the limit. Everybody is supposed to pursue the dream of his/her life tirelessly.
